GOP Platform Against Internet Gambling ? CBS Las Vegas

(Las Vegas, NV) ? The Republican Party has come out against Internet gaming. A plank in the GOP platform approved at last week?s national convention calls for a ?prohibition? on online betting. Internet poker is supported by most of Nevada?s gaming industry and politicians of both parties.

Governor Brian Sandoval tells the ?Review-Journal? the Silver State backs online betting and a, quote, ?secure online gaming environment.? Las Vegas Sands Chairman Sheldon Adelson, a key Republican donor, is the most prominent gaming executive to oppose online betting.
