The latest news from Valve is that the?Steam Community Market is now in Beta for Team Fortress 2 giving players the power to sell in-game items to other players with Steam Wallet funds.
To get things started, the Market is limited to?Team Fortress 2 consumables and tools, including paints, keys, and crates. Inside your Steam Inventory, anything that is ?Marketable? can be sold on. Once this initial phase of testing is completed more items will be added from TF2 as well as items for other games.
Valve?s trade system has proved so sucessful that the Steam Market is a natural evolution for Steam. ?Valve?s?Tony Paloma added:
?With over a half million trades made every week, the trading system has been very successful. Extending game economies beyond trades and giving players a way to turn gameplay into funds for new items and games is a key component for moving that success forward.?
During the Beta, Valve will be taking??5% as the Steam Transaction Fee but anyone wanting to try this out should read through the FAQ carefully as there?s mentions of fees all over the place. Kerchiiingggg.
