Boise State signs versatile player from California

The Boise State football program has found a versatile player to fit into one of the team?s most versatile positions.

Mat Boesen of West High in Torrance, Calif., gave the Broncos an oral commitment Thursday. He plays tight end and defensive end in high school. His only other offer was from San Diego State, which wanted to bring him in as an athlete and figure out a position later.

Boesen is 6-foot-4, 210 pounds. He also wrestles.

?Football has always been my passion,? he said. ?I?ve dreamed ever since I was little to play college football and make it to the next level after that. ... I told all the coaches that I love both sides of the ball and I?ll play whatever.?
