Our Deepest Fear | The Lightsome Life | SimplyHealed | Tamarah ...

4 questions for you.? Get a paper, because I want you to answer these in all honesty.

  • Do you consider yourself powerful?
  • Do you recognize the power within you?
  • Do you own your own power?
  • Do you accept all of it and use it wisely?

In my experience with my clients, I find that it is very common they need affirmations regarding ?power?.? Choosing to own it, accepting it and receiving it.

If you took a moment to tally down every thought or feeling you had during the day where you played the role of ?victim? I think you might be surprised by its prevalence.? Heck, you might even be able to earn an Oscar? for your performance.? Often we are not even AWARE of our tendency to live in a place of ?poor me? or ?everyone is out to get me? or ?life will just always be this way?.? This mentality is in the conversations we have with our neighbors, friends and family.? Somehow it is a part of our cultural norm to allow the victim mentality creep into our everyday conversation so that we are accepted and acceptable to the people around us.? That we would allow this to be the case is honestly demented.

Choosing to react to life above emotions of fear and anger is a HUGE step toward accepting and using your power.

Power sometimes gets a bad rap, because people in ?powerful? positions often make decisions based on anything but love and peace.? Their decisions can come from a place of fear, anger or selfishness.? Does it mean that power in and of itself is bad?? No.? Power is dormant, until it is put into use.

I love this quote by Marianne Williamson (which is often wrongly credited to Nelson Mandela) that states:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won?t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It?s not just in some of us; it?s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

The question remains.? What are you going to do about YOUR power TODAY?

  • Will you choose to recognize it?
  • Will you own it?
  • Will you accept it?
  • Will you use it wisely?

Your choice today will inspire everyone around you to re-evaluate their own relationship with their power.

Just for a day, keep a piece of paper handy and play a game; choose to become aware of your power by simply acknowledging every moment you give it away, then mark it down.

Make the choice today to accept your power and use it to create a life of goodness and happiness.?

Claim your power, claim your place and claim your peace.
