Commodities

?Too little, too late? could well describe the current plight of the 'smart money' silver investor, since many seem to be arriving late to the party when the market has not even yet entered the final phase for investment demand in either silver or gold.

Of course, some investment money has trickled in to the precious metals, but to the average investor, prices are still correcting and the market?s fundamentals remain very much misunderstood.

The Financial Media Circus Aids the Manipulators

The controlled financial media continues to recruit from within its ranks those market analysts who have incorrectly predicted and portrayed precious metal fundamentals and market conditions. This has further helped to inhibit more accurate price discovery in the metal markets.

There also remains a suckling reflex among those investors that cling to the status quo, apparently unconvinced by the reality they can actually see with their increasingly blind eyes.

Such people demand the circus presentation of information by the media with little regard to its accuracy or to the long term performance of touted pundits that seem to gain instant credibility by their simple presence in print or on television.

When Silver Breaks Beyond Manipulation

On its surface, the paper silver market appears to portray a starkly different picture compared to the reality of what lies underneath or at the root of each futures contract.

When the door is officially shut on the sacrosanct social contract at the center of price discovery, and the scales tip toward public understanding, the silver market could finally see its long awaited price release.

The resulting sharp rally would probably overshoot substantially to the upside, as the silver market suddenly finds itself in a vacuum when its price finally becomes dependent upon physical supply and demand for the first time in decades.

When widespread understanding of the intrinsic value of silver instantly overwhelms available supply, the misunderstandings of this decades-long market manipulation will end.

Fundamental Price Discovery May Finally Return

In many ways this dramatic event will be symbolic and could well herald the return to fundamental price discovery in all other commodity markets. Unfortunately, most people remain totally unaware that the sudden upside risk created by systematic and manipulative underpricing has existed for many years.

Once the return to fair value occurs, the offers will finally recede, giving way to an unprecedented influx of demand for silver.

While participation in the precious metals market is currently low relative to other asset classes, a large amount of liquidity is lying in wait for the time when frustrated investors finally discover that their apparently never ending search for a meaningful yield has become all but fruitless.

At some point the realization of the importance of having a return of their money ? rather than just a return on their money ? will dawn upon them, but for most it will be too late to save their wealth from devastation.

After ballot box wins, gay marriage battle heads back to courts

People line up for early voting in Silver Spring, Md., Oct. 27, 2012. (Reuters/Gary Cameron)People line up for early voting in Silver Spring, Md., Oct. 27, 2012. (Reuters/Gary Cameron)

As the U.S. Supreme Court meets on Friday to consider whether to wade into the issue of gay marriage, the justices face a reality not even a month old: For the first time, voters have chosen to legalize same-sex nuptials.

The shift that took place on Election Day has energized gay marriage advocates, who believe the expressions of support for their cause in four states will influence the Supreme Court's decision making.

At a private conference on Friday, the justices will consider whether to hear several cases dealing with the rights of gay couples who are married, want to get married or are in domestic partnerships. They could announce as soon as Friday which, if any, of the cases they'll accept.

On Nov. 6, voters approved ballot measures that legalized gay marriage in Maine, Maryland and Washington state and defeated a ballot measure in Minnesota that would have added an amendment to the state's Constitution banning same sex nuptials. It was a remarkable breakthrough for gay rights advocates, since until this year voters had rejected same-sex marriage in 32 states that held popular votes on the issue.

Advocates say such electoral victories are unlikely to be repeated anytime soon. The action will instead revert to legislative chambers and the courts, where all gay marriage victories were achieved prior to Election Day 2012.

"It's almost hard to find the right adjective to describe the monumental victory we had winning all four states," said Michael Cole-Schwartz, director of communication for the Human Rights Campaign, a gay rights group. "Marriage equality nationwide is not a question of if but when. It's up to us to accelerate our efforts."

Activists are looking to state legislatures in Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey and Rhode Island as the next places where the legalization of gay marriage or civil unions will be debated.

Right now, Oregon stands the best chance of being the next state to legalize gay marriage by popular vote, advocates say.

Jeana Frazzini, executive director of Basic Rights Oregon, said her group is aiming to make a decision early next year about whether to push for a ballot initiative in 2014 that would overturn the state's constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage, which passed in 2004.

"It's still very, very difficult to win a ballot measure," Evan Wolfson, founder and president of Freedom to Marry, said.

But Wolfson pointed to three factors that helped gay marriage go 4-0 on Election Day this year after so many previous losses: more "engagement" with voters; the increased visibility of gay marriage in the years since it has been legal in a handful of states; and better campaigns around the ballot measures.

President Barack Obama also has influenced the debate, advocates say. In May, Obama announced his support for gay marriage the day after voters in North Carolina overwhelmingly passed a constitutional amendment banning such nuptials.

Still, opponents of same sex nuptials don't see the string of victories as evidence of the inevitable.

Frank Schubert of the National Organization for Marriage said his group and others that promote traditional marriage were outspent in the battles this year. He also noted that the four states that expressed support for gay marriage this year were all traditionally Democratic and supported Obama in the presidential contest.

Schubert called the results "very disappointing" but said, "I don't think it signals a change in the mood of the country as a whole."

NOM does expect to be on the defensive "in the very short term" fighting state legislatures' attempts to legalize gay marriage, Schubert said. But his group and others hope to play offense again in two years?in Indiana, where the legislature already has taken steps to put a state constitutional amendment on the ballot that would ban same sex nuptials.

Schubert suggested the Supreme Court will have an impact on what happens in 2014 when it comes to one of the cases being considered on Friday: whether Proposition 8, California's 2008 voter-enacted ban on gay marriage, ?violates the U.S. Constitution.

The case was brought on behalf of two gay California couples who want to get married but can't because of the ban. The case originally had the potential to establish a right to same-sex marriage nationwide, but as it's framed now after a trip through the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, it only applies to California.

If the high court decides to accept the case and ultimately upholds Prop. 8, Schubert said he thinks there will be another ballot battle over gay marriage in California in 2014, with supporters trying to make gay marriage legal.

The justices could also decline to hear the Prop. 8 case, which would make gay marriage legal by default in California because of the 9th Circuit's ruling. Or they could decide to hear the case and strike down Prop. 8.

Also before the justices on Friday are cases relating to the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), the federal law that bars the U.S. government from recognizing same-sex marriage. Another deals with an Arizona law that denies benefits to state employees' domestic partners.

Many court watchers think it's likely the justices will accept one or more of the DOMA cases. Arguments would be held in the first half of 2013, and a ruling would be issued by June. If the court strikes down DOMA, it would give more rights to gay couples who are already married in states where it's legal, but it wouldn't expand gay marriage to more states.

Despite the all the potential action at the high court, Wolfson of Freedom to Marry says gay rights advocates' state-by-state strategy?of continuing to foster a groundswell of support through "persuasion and conversations"? doesn't change.

"If they do take one of those cases, then it even adds to the urgency of winning more states and growing the majority as much as we can while the court ponders," he said.

Becoming an electrician starts with getting the right schooling. One can start quite early, even in High School. Many vocational programs in secondary schools have an electrical program. Following High School graduation, one can enter a program at a college to further their learning. Community colleges often have excellent trades program, including electrical. In addition to their typical general education courses like math and English, students will take practical courses where they learn both the science behind the trade and also get to apply and learn new skills in hands-on work. If one desires to learn more about the scientific end of things, they can attend a four year college that offers advanced programs like electrical engineering or similar majors. Community colleges are great because they offer students practical experience.

One can also do some extra work on their own to increase their skills and education. It is a great idea to find an experienced individual who works in the field and get close to them. An experienced worker can offer electrician training in the form of an apprenticeship or might be able to hire a student to work for them. They can also share the pros and cons of the industry, as well as stories from on the job. This will give the young student a better idea of what daily life is like as an electrical worker, and help them decide if this is really the field that they want to devote their life to. Working with a professional can help one meet others in the field and perhaps potential future customers. The pro may also have some suggestions for training programs or courses that the aspiring electrician can take advantage of. They can serve as a reference for the student's resume.

Before one can be successful in industry, they must have to proper education and training. Fortunately, budding electrical workers have many options to help them reach their goals and better themselves.

Human-caused climate change signal emerges from the noise

ScienceDaily (Nov. 29, 2012) ? By comparing simulations from 20 different computer models to satellite observations, Lawrence Livermore climate scientists and colleagues from 16 other organizations have found that tropospheric and stratospheric temperature changes are clearly related to human activities.?

The team looked at geographical patterns of atmospheric temperature change over the period of satellite observations. The team's goal of the study was to determine whether previous findings of a "discernible human influence" on tropospheric and stratospheric temperature were sensitive to current uncertainties in climate models and satellite data.

The troposphere is the lowest portion of earth's atmosphere. The stratosphere sits just above the troposphere, between 6 and 30 miles above earth's surface.

The satellite temperature data sets were produced by three different research groups, and rely on measurements of the microwave emissions of oxygen molecules. Each group made different choices in processing these raw measurements, and in accounting for such complex effects as drifts in satellite orbits and in instrument calibrations.

The new climate model simulations analyzed by the team will form the scientific backbone of the upcoming 5th assessment of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which is due out in 2014.

In both satellite observations and the computer model simulations of historical climate change, the lower stratosphere cools markedly over the past 33 years. This cooling is primarily a response to the human-caused depletion of stratospheric ozone. The observations and model simulations also show a common pattern of large-scale warming of the lower troposphere, with largest warming over the Arctic, and muted warming (or even cooling) over Antarctica. Tropospheric warming is mainly driven by human-caused increases in well-mixed greenhouse gases.

"It's very unlikely that purely natural causes can explain these distinctive patterns of temperature change," said Laboratory atmospheric scientist Benjamin Santer, who is lead author of the paper appearing in the Nov. 29 online edition of the journal, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

"No known mode of natural climate variability can cause sustained, global-scale warming of the troposphere and cooling of the lower stratosphere."

The team analyzed results from climate model simulations with specified historical changes in human and natural external factors, and from simulations with projected 21st century changes in greenhouse gases and anthropogenic aerosols. They also looked at simulations with no changes in external influences on climate, which provide information on the year-to-year and decade-to-decade "noise" of internal climate variability, arising from such natural phenomena as the El Nino/Southern Oscillation and the Pacific Decadal Oscillation.

The team used a standard "climate fingerprint" method to search for the model signal pattern (in response to human influences, the sun and volcanoes) in the satellite observations. The method quantifies the strength of the signal in observations, relative to the strength of the signal in natural climate noise.

Many people think of scuba nose absorb as just a swim in the water, but in reality it is a very exciting, dangerous, and potentially fatal swordplay and activity. There be umpteen types of scuba diving, ranging from recreational to gasconade to career diving. Scuba Diving is just not a swim in the water, scuba requires certification, uses technical equipment, and there is a lot of risk involved with scuba diving. Scuba, which is actually an acronym for collected breathing apparatus, Allows divers to dive deeper and stay semiaquatic longer. Scuba comes a long way from other forms of diving by using an air-tank and regulator. This is what allows them to stay under longer and dive deeper. Scuba originally began with military and commercial applications, where it is still employ today. But now, by far the largest group of divers is amateurish Divers. These dives are practiced at depths of less than one hundred thirty feet, from these depths, divers can make a straight climb to the surface. Diving beyond this limit requires advanced training. (Lawrence, 4) Before recreational or sport divers can take a plunge into the water, they must complete a course in scuba diving and become certified.

There are many scuba diving agencies, the largest being PADI, but there are many others, including the National association of Underwater Instructors and the National Association of Scuba Diving Schools. All agencies require that participants be deft swimmers, in reasonably good health, and at least 12 years of age. The course usually consists of classroom work, practice in a pool or confined body of water, and dives in open water. In the course, students learn to use diving equipment, to score air pressure as they descend, to swim efficiently underwater, to pee-pee the mask if water leaks in, and to ascend safely. Because divers cannot talk to all(prenominal) other underwater, they also learn how to communicate underwater with pass around signals. Scuba diving should always be...
